The Best Father’s Day is Spent Outdoors

Father’s Day is a wonderful opportunity to spend quality time with your dad and create lasting memories. And, we think the best times are spent outdoors! Here in Nashville, there are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy with your father. We’ve put together some of our top suggestions for Father’s Day fun in Nashville’s great outdoors.

Golf Outing

If your dad enjoys golf, Nashville has numerous golf courses to choose from. Arrange a tee time at one of the local courses, such as Hermitage Golf Course or Gaylord Springs Golf Links, and spend the day playing a round together.

Go Fishing

Nashville has several lakes and rivers that are perfect for fishing. You can head to Percy Priest Lake or Old Hickory Lake and spend the day casting a line with your dad. If you don’t have your own fishing gear, there are rental options available in the area.

Attend a Sounds Game

If your dad is a sports fan, treat him to a baseball game at First Horizon Park, home of the Nashville Sounds, a Triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. Enjoy the game, grab some ballpark food, and cheer on the team together.

Explore the Parks

Nashville is home to numerous beautiful parks where you can immerse yourselves in nature. Radnor Lake State Park offers scenic hiking trails and opportunities for wildlife spotting. Centennial Park is another great option, featuring the iconic Parthenon replica, walking paths, and a lovely pond. Edwin and Percy Warner Parks, collectively known as the Warner Parks, offer picnic areas surrounded by natural beauty, making it an ideal spot to relax, eat, and spend quality time with your dad. Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park offers a blend of historical exploration and outdoor leisure, where fathers can enjoy a scenic stroll while discovering Tennessee’s history engraved in the 19-acre park’s monuments and landmarks.

Visit the Garden Center at the Nashville Farmers Market

If you choose to visit the Bicentennial Park, be sure to stop over next door to see us at Gardens of Babylon, and enjoy time with dad wandering through our beautiful greenhouses, enjoying the tranquility of the surroundings. We would love to be a part of your special day! If you get hungry, enjoy a bite at one of the food trucks or with a vendor at the market.

Plant a Tree Together in Your Own Yard

What better way to have a lasting memory of good times spent with dad than to buy a tree to plant together in your yard. If you choose to visit us at Gardens of Babylon, one of our team members can give tips on what type of tree will thrive in your space and how to care for it after you have both planted it. We even have tools and gloves if needed!

Remember to check the specific schedules and availability of these activities as they may be subject to change or have specific Father’s Day promotions. Whatever you choose to do, the most important thing is to spend time together and make your dad feel appreciated on his special day!
